Wanna shag?

If these birds aren't shags then my title doesn't make sense and is just embarrassing. I'm going to assume they are because I can't tell the difference between shags and cormorants. I took these photos while out visiting a part of Cardiff with a group of co-students as we are doing a project on the area. Since we were just passing through I didn't get a chance to take a single really good photo of them, which was a shame, I'll have to go back. So instead here is this horribly botchy photoshop job of a couple of the photos I took. If you have glasses, take them off and you will see the beauty in it :-) Most of my photos lately have been of rather bland cityscapes, but Cardiff does have some cool architecture so I'll just have to get out more and photograph it! For the time being, just be happy I updated!

I'm a hobby photographer hoping to improve. I have a point-and-shoot digital at the moment, but can hardly wait to get my hot little hands on a DSLR and some nice lenses one day! I like to take pictures of almost anything, but I think I'm really drawn to rich colors and different textures in what I photograph. I really appreciate constructive criticism, so please feel free to tell me what you think, especially if there is something you think I could have done with a photo to make it better.
