A path to serenityPosted by Katherine (Aberystwyth, United Kingdom) on 23 October 2009 in Landscape & Rural. I've been a bit of a nomad lately, in a couple of ways. Firstly, my wandering spirit has taken me out on my bike quite a lot, loving the freedom and peace of the open countryside. Then in another way, I've been travelling back and forth to another town for a course, which has involved a lot of organization and basically living out of a backpack for a while. All this translates to, the only photos I have with me are ones from a few recent bike rides in the countryside, so there may be more of these photos to come. I tried something in this photo that I learned from my friend Elora, that is, I used my sunglasses as a polarizer. It did interesting things to the color of the photo, making it a lot warmer and redder, and I quite liked the effect. I also messed about with how to crop this, I love the tree and the countryside and the wall, but I think by keeping them all in, the focus is maybe not so much on the path as I wanted it to be. I'm a hobby photographer hoping to improve. I have a point-and-shoot digital at the moment, but can hardly wait to get my hot little hands on a DSLR and some nice lenses one day! I like to take pictures of almost anything, but I think I'm really drawn to rich colors and different textures in what I photograph. I really appreciate constructive criticism, so please feel free to tell me what you think, especially if there is something you think I could have done with a photo to make it better. Thanks and hope you enjoy! I don't mind my images being used but please ask my permission and credit the photos appropriately. Thank you.
